Blight: Survival has officially surpassed 1.5 million wishlists on Steam, making it one of the most anticipated unreleased games currently in development. The milestone was announced by developer Haenir Studio earlier this year alongside a fresh look at gameplay, giving fans another glimpse at the dark medieval world that has captured so much attention.
For an independent studio, reaching 1.5 million wishlists is a remarkable achievement. The game has steadily built momentum thanks to its unique premise, combining medieval warfare, brutal melee combat, and a zombie-like plague in a setting that stands apart from the crowded survival genre. While the game still does not have a release date, interest continues to grow as more players discover what it has to offer.
Set in an alternate 14th century, Blight: Survival takes place between two kingdoms locked in a brutal and seemingly endless war. As thousands of soldiers fall on the battlefield, a mysterious plague begins spreading through the dead, transforming them into horrifying creatures and turning the warzone into a nightmare.
Players take on the role of warriors known as the Writhens, who are tasked with venturing deep into infected territory to investigate and destroy the source of the plague. The game can be played solo or with up to three friends in online co-op, allowing players to tackle dangerous missions together.
Unlike traditional open world survival games, Blight: Survival is built around extraction-style gameplay. Players enter hostile regions, fight both infected monsters and human enemies, gather valuable loot, and attempt to escape with their rewards before losing everything.

Combat is one of the game’s biggest selling points. Recent gameplay footage has showcased weighty sword fighting, brutal finishing moves, shields, bows, axes, and other medieval weapons. The developers have spent considerable time rebuilding core combat systems to make battles feel more realistic and impactful.
The game’s atmosphere also helps it stand out. Swamps, plague ridden battlefields, abandoned settlements, and grotesque creatures create a dark and oppressive world that feels more like a medieval horror story than a traditional fantasy adventure.
Although a release date has yet to be announced, Blight: Survival has quickly become one of the most watched upcoming games on Steam. If the final product can deliver on the promise shown in its trailers and gameplay showcases, it could become one of the most unique co-op horror experiences in recent years.
