New Evidence Suggests Injustice 3 Might Be Happening

A new report is adding to growing speculation that Injustice 3 could be the next project from NetherRealm Studios, although nothing has been officially confirmed. The report, published by MP1st, points to recent job listings and familiar development patterns that suggest the studio is preparing for its next major fighting game. While the project itself hasn’t been named, many believe the signs are starting to line up for a return to the DC universe.

The speculation largely comes down to timing. Support for Mortal Kombat 1 appears to be winding down, which is typically when NetherRealm shifts focus to its next release. The studio has historically alternated between Mortal Kombat and Injustice, and with several years having passed since Injustice 2, the DC fighting series feels like the most likely candidate.

Further adding to the discussion are job listings for QA testers working on an unannounced title. While these postings don’t reference Injustice 3 directly, they do confirm that a new project is actively in development behind the scenes. Combined with the studio’s usual release cycle, it has led many to believe that the next reveal could be closer than expected.

Comments from Ed Boon have also played a role in shaping expectations. The NetherRealm boss has previously stated that the studio’s next game would likely be either another Mortal Kombat entry or Injustice 3. With Mortal Kombat 1 still relatively recent, attention has naturally shifted toward the possibility of a DC-focused sequel.

At the same time, Warner Bros. continues to position DC as a major part of its gaming strategy, which makes the return of Injustice a logical move. Even so, it’s important to separate the current evidence from confirmed information. There has been no official announcement, no gameplay reveal, and no release window, with everything so far based on job listings, past patterns, and informed speculation.

For now, the situation remains a case of strong hints rather than concrete proof. NetherRealm is clearly working on something new, and Injustice 3 fits the pattern better than any other possibility, but until the studio makes it official, the rumours should be taken with a degree of caution.
