Inferno Protocol Is a New Survival Horror Game Where Escaping the Maze Is the Only Goal

A new indie survival horror game is starting to attract attention on Steam with a concept built around exploration, cooperation, and survival inside an enormous and mysterious labyrinth. Inferno Protocol, currently in development by Tektonic Interactive, places players in a hostile maze where the primary objective is simple but daunting: find a way out while surviving the horrors lurking within its corridors.

The game is designed as a first person survival horror experience that can be played alone or with up to six players in online co-op. Players must explore the maze together, gathering resources, crafting equipment, and working as a team to survive the threats hiding in the darkness. The labyrinth itself is described as massive in scale, stretching across an area comparable to tens of thousands of football fields, making navigation a major challenge as players attempt to map out their surroundings and avoid becoming lost.

Survival mechanics play a central role in the experience. Resources scattered throughout the maze can be salvaged and turned into weapons, traps, and essential tools needed to progress deeper into the labyrinth. Every encounter carries risk, and players must carefully manage the materials they collect to ensure they can defend themselves when danger appears.

The game also introduces some unusual mechanics that add a darker edge to its survival systems. Creatures encountered within the labyrinth can be harvested for materials such as bones, flesh, and armor, which can then be used to craft new equipment. Players can also inject mysterious syringes that alter their abilities, granting powerful advantages but sometimes causing unpredictable side effects.

Although the labyrinth is filled with danger, players may occasionally encounter other survivors hidden throughout the maze. These characters can trade supplies and information, offering a rare opportunity to obtain valuable items that might help players push further into the labyrinth’s depths.

Environmental storytelling also appears to be an important part of the experience. Notes, recordings, and scattered messages from previous explorers provide clues about the origins of the labyrinth and the fate of those who entered before. As players uncover these fragments, they begin to piece together the unsettling mystery behind the structure itself.

With its focus on cooperative gameplay, crafting, exploration, and psychological tension, Inferno Protocol is shaping up to be a survival horror experience that challenges players not just to fight monsters, but to survive the maze itself.
