Rockstar Games’ upcoming GTA 6 Extended Look could be much bigger than originally expected, with a new discovery suggesting the Netflix presentation may feature as many as three episodes.
Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look is officially scheduled to premiere on Netflix on August 27 at 3pm ET, or 8pm in the UK. Netflix will have a six-hour exclusivity window before the presentation becomes available through Rockstar’s official YouTube channel and website.
However, a discovery on Netflix’s Portuguese website may have revealed more about Rockstar’s plans ahead of time.
As reported by Insider Gaming, a user on the GTA 6 subreddit spotted three separate episode entries listed on the Portuguese Netflix page for Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look. The page has since been updated and those episode listings are no longer visible.
Another report suggests the three entries had a combined runtime of more than an hour, potentially making the Extended Look considerably larger than a traditional Rockstar gameplay trailer.
Exactly what these apparent episodes could contain remains unknown. One possibility is that Rockstar could divide its GTA 6 showcase into different sections covering gameplay, characters, the world of Leonida and other features. Alternatively, the listings could relate to separate pieces of promotional content planned for release over time.
For now, however, fans should treat the three-episode claim as a rumor. Rockstar Games, Take-Two Interactive and Netflix have not announced that the Extended Look will contain multiple episodes, and Insider Gaming notes that the original Netflix Portugal listings have already disappeared.
Netflix currently describes the presentation simply as an extended look at Grand Theft Auto VI and confirms its August 27 premiere, without mentioning an episode count.
Whatever form it takes, the Extended Look is shaping up to be one of the biggest GTA 6 reveals yet. With Rockstar remaining quiet about exactly what viewers will see, fans will have to wait until August 27 to discover just how extensive the presentation really is.
