A Game About Chopping Trees Turns Simple Forestry Into a Relaxing Co-Op Experience

A new simulation game is proving that even the simplest activities can make for an enjoyable gaming experience.

Developed by Space Raccoon Game Studio and published by Spaghetti Cat, A Game About Chopping Trees launched on Steam on July 15, 2026. As its title suggests, the game is focused on travelling through peaceful forests, cutting down trees and upgrading your equipment.

Rather than introducing strict deadlines or complicated survival mechanics, the game is designed to offer a calm and satisfying experience. Players can work through woodland areas at their own pace, earning money that can be used to improve their axe, increase the strength of each swing and make chopping more efficient.

Once an area has been cleared, players can board a manually operated railway handcar and travel along the tracks to another section of forest. These journeys are intended to be part of the relaxing experience, allowing players to enjoy the scenery before beginning work in a new location.

The game also includes a reforestation system. After cutting down trees, players can plant new saplings and watch them gradually grow, creating a repeating cycle of chopping, upgrading and restoring the environment.

Although it can be played alone, A Game About Chopping Trees also supports online co-op, allowing two players to explore and work together. Steam achievements, cloud saves and family sharing are included as well.

The small-scale simulator has already received a positive response from players, earning a Very Positive rating on Steam.

With its straightforward progression, peaceful atmosphere and co-op support, A Game About Chopping Trees could appeal to players looking for a relaxing alternative to more demanding simulation games.
