Way of the Hunter 2 has officially launched, expanding the realistic open-world hunting series with new locations, improved animal behaviour and, perhaps most importantly, a loyal hunting dog that can accompany you throughout your adventures.
Your four-legged companion isn’t simply there for decoration. The hunting dog can detect animal signs, follow blood trails and help track wounded game through the wilderness. Players can train and exercise their dog over time, gradually improving its tracking abilities and making it an increasingly useful hunting partner.
The sequel features large hunting grounds across North America and Africa with a huge variety of wildlife. Players can encounter familiar species including moose, elk, bears and bison, while the African Kilimaya Reserve introduces more dangerous animals such as lions, hippos, buffalo and Nile crocodiles. Animals react to their surroundings, encouraging players to study tracks, habitats and movement patterns before taking a shot.

Way of the Hunter 2 also features two-player co-op alongside thermal night vision, suppressors and an improved shot-review system that allows players to analyse bullet trajectory, speed, angle and shot placement. Players can also develop an expandable hunting lodge and fill it with trophies collected during their expeditions.
After spending six months in Steam Early Access, Way of the Hunter 2 received its full release on September 29. The game is available now for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with plans for continued support including new species, biomes, equipment and additional content.
