Wyldheart Is an Upcoming Co-op Fantasy RPG That Lets Four Friends Explore a World Together

An upcoming fantasy RPG called Wyldheart is looking to bring friends together for cooperative adventures, allowing up to four players to explore a detailed fantasy world filled with dangerous creatures, hidden dungeons and mysterious locations.

Developed by Swedish indie studio Wayfinder Studios and published by Curve Games, the game takes inspiration from traditional tabletop role-playing adventures, combining real-time combat with exploration, character progression and survival elements.

Set in the fallen Kingdom of Caerwyn, players will be able to explore forests, villages, ancient ruins and underground dungeons while uncovering the stories and secrets of the surrounding world. Along the way, they can encounter NPCs with their own daily routines, discover quests through conversations and investigate rumours that lead to new adventures.

Wyldheart features a flexible character creation system, allowing players to choose from several fantasy ancestries, including Freefolk, Mosslings and Grimhorns, alongside a variety of backgrounds. Rather than locking players into traditional character classes, the game allows different abilities and playstyles to be combined.

Combat takes place in real time, with players able to use melee weapons, bows, magic and throwable items against the creatures inhabiting the world. Outside of combat, players can gather resources, craft equipment, prepare meals and upgrade their gear before heading out on their next adventure.

One of the game’s more interesting features is its approach to cooperative progression. Wyldheart has been designed with players who have limited gaming time in mind, featuring shared progression systems and flexible multiplayer that allow friends to join or leave without disrupting the group’s adventure.

According to the developers, individual campaigns are designed to offer approximately 10 hours of main story content, alongside another 15 hours of optional activities. The aim is to deliver a complete fantasy adventure without requiring players to commit hundreds of hours to a single campaign.

Wyldheart is currently in development for PC, with an Early Access release planned for 2026 and a full release targeted for 2027. An exact release date has not yet been announced, but the game is available to wishlist on Steam.
