Moldhaven is an upcoming first-person survival horror game that combines tactical gunplay, psychological horror and resource management in a mysterious forest filled with hostile inhabitants.
Developed and published by ASIM GAMES, Moldhaven is currently scheduled to launch on PC via Steam in Q4 2026. Players take control of Sam, a former Marine who ventures deep into the northern wilderness in search of his sister and her missing expedition.
What begins as a rescue mission quickly develops into something far more disturbing. Sam discovers an anomalous zone influenced by a mysterious ancient entity capable of taking control of the human mind and distorting its victims’ perception of reality. Meanwhile, evidence scattered throughout the wilderness points towards a corporation and a much larger conspiracy.
Survival won’t simply come down to having enough ammunition. Moldhaven features a toxicity and sanity system that forces players to monitor Sam’s condition while exploring the anomaly. Prolonged exposure to the entity’s influence can push him towards madness, requiring players to find and use antidotes before his condition becomes worse.

The enemies roaming the forest are also designed to be more dangerous than typical infected. According to the developer, hostile tribes affected by the virus retain elements of their human intelligence, allowing them to coordinate attacks, use tactics and track Sam through dense vegetation.
Players will have the option of avoiding confrontations through stealth or relying on Sam’s military experience and available weapons to fight back. With resources needing to be carefully managed, choosing when to engage an enemy could become an important part of surviving the wilderness.
Exploration and investigation also play a major role. Abandoned campsites and other locations contain logs, evidence and clues left behind by the missing expedition, gradually revealing what happened to Sam’s sister and the true nature of the force controlling the people in the region.

Moldhaven is being positioned as a story-driven survival horror experience rather than a traditional open-world survival crafting game, blending FPS combat with psychological horror, exploration and tactical decision-making.
The game is currently listed for PC with a planned Q4 2026 release. Its Steam page recommends an RTX 3070 or RX 6700 XT alongside 16GB of RAM, while approximately 20GB of storage space will be required.
With intelligent enemies, a sanity system and a hostile forest hiding a corporate conspiracy, Moldhaven could be one to watch for players looking for a darker, more atmospheric survival FPS later this year.
