Tencent Reportedly Developing New AAA Adventure Inspired by Uncharted, Tomb Raider, and The Last of Us Part II

Tencent is reportedly working on a brand-new AAA action adventure game, currently known internally by the codename Project T. While the title has yet to be officially announced, early reports suggest it could become one of the company’s most ambitious single-player projects to date.

According to industry reports, Project T is drawing inspiration from critically acclaimed franchises including Uncharted, Tomb Raider, and The Last of Us Part II. The game is said to combine cinematic storytelling with exploration, climbing, environmental puzzles, stealth, and third-person combat.

Unlike Tencent’s best-known multiplayer and mobile releases, Project T is reportedly being developed as a premium single-player experience with a strong narrative focus. Sources claim players will explore vast environments inspired by ancient civilizations, uncover hidden ruins, and piece together the mysteries of a long-forgotten world.

The game is also expected to feature traversal mechanics similar to those found in Uncharted and Tomb Raider, allowing players to climb cliffs, navigate dangerous landscapes, and solve environmental challenges. Combat is reportedly designed to blend gunplay, melee encounters, and stealth, while the overall presentation aims to deliver a cinematic experience comparable to some of the biggest action-adventure games on the market.

Although comparisons to existing franchises are inevitable, reports suggest Tencent is creating an entirely new intellectual property rather than adapting an established series. The studio is said to be focusing on original characters, locations, and lore while taking inspiration from the gameplay systems that made those titles so successful.

Very little else is known about the project at this stage. Tencent has not officially revealed the game, confirmed its codename, or announced a release window. As with any unannounced title, development plans could change before an official unveiling.

If the reports prove accurate, Project T could mark a significant step forward for Tencent’s premium console ambitions. With cinematic action adventures continuing to be one of gaming’s most popular genres, the project has already attracted attention despite remaining firmly under wraps.

For now, fans will have to wait for Tencent to make an official announcement before learning more about what Project T has to offer.
