Far Cry 7 Leak Reveals Major Gameplay Changes That Have Fans Concerned

A new leak has offered what could be the clearest look yet at Ubisoft’s plans for Far Cry 7, suggesting the next entry in the long-running franchise may introduce some of its most ambitious gameplay changes to date. Although none of the information has been officially confirmed, the rumored features have already sparked plenty of discussion among fans.

According to the leak, Far Cry 7 is expected to place a much greater emphasis on survival than previous games in the series. Players may need to scavenge for supplies, carefully manage limited resources, maintain their weapons, and work within a more restrictive inventory system. If accurate, these mechanics would mark a noticeable shift away from the fast-paced action that has defined the franchise for years.

One of the biggest talking points is the reported addition of PvPvE extraction gameplay. Rather than simply exploring an open world and completing story missions, players would reportedly venture into dangerous areas to collect valuable resources while battling both AI-controlled enemies and rival players. Successfully extracting with your loot would be key, bringing the experience closer to modern extraction shooters than a traditional Far Cry adventure.

The latest leak also claims Ubisoft may have reworked one of the game’s most controversial rumored mechanics. Earlier reports suggested players would have just 72 in-game hours to rescue kidnapped family members before facing permanent consequences. Following criticism from fans, the new information indicates that the strict countdown has either been significantly changed or removed altogether, although some form of time pressure may still remain.

Story details remain limited, but the leak points to a conflict involving a dangerous faction known as the Sons of Truth. Players are reportedly tasked with rescuing members of their family while navigating a hostile world that places a much greater focus on survival, planning, and risk management than previous entries in the series.

As expected, reaction from the community has been mixed. Some players are excited by the prospect of Ubisoft taking the franchise in a fresh direction after years of familiar gameplay, while others are concerned that the reported extraction and survival elements move too far away from the open-world, story-driven experience that made Far Cry so popular.

For now, it’s important to remember that Ubisoft has not officially revealed Far Cry 7 or confirmed any of the leaked features. Until the company makes an announcement, all of the reported mechanics should be treated as rumors rather than confirmed details.
