A new indie title is starting to draw attention on Steam, with Frontier Legends aiming to bring a fresh spin to the open world survival genre through a Wild West setting. Developed by Neojac Entertainment, the game places players in the role of a lone settler arriving on the frontier with nothing, tasked with carving out a life in a harsh and unpredictable world.
Rather than focusing on a traditional linear story, Frontier Legends leans into player driven progression. Survival plays a central role, with players needing to gather resources, hunt wildlife, craft tools, and manage basic needs while exploring a dynamic environment shaped by day and night cycles and changing weather conditions. The goal is not just to survive, but to grow.
One of the game’s defining features is its settlement system. Players can gradually expand a small camp into a functioning frontier town, recruiting NPCs and assigning them roles such as farming, crafting, or defending the settlement. How well this system is managed directly impacts progression, adding a layer of strategy on top of the survival gameplay.

The experience is further expanded through multiplayer, allowing players to share the world with others. Whether working together, trading resources, or competing for control, these interactions are designed to create unpredictable, player driven moments. Combined with the freedom to take on different roles such as a trader, hunter, lawman, or outlaw, the game places a strong emphasis on shaping your own identity within the frontier.
While the project is still heading toward an Early Access release, the developers have outlined plans to expand the game over time with additional content, systems, and features based on player feedback. If it can deliver on its core ideas, Frontier Legends could offer a compelling blend of survival mechanics and open ended sandbox gameplay in a setting that continues to resonate with players.
