Ubisoft reportedly explored an Assassin’s Creed project that could have taken players to the Aztec Empire, alongside several other historical settings.
According to previous reports, Ubisoft Sofia pitched a project codenamed Nebula, which was said to feature three different locations: India, the Mediterranean and the Aztec Empire. At the time, the project was reportedly still in the concept or prototype stages rather than full production.
The idea of an Aztec Assassin’s Creed had actually surfaced before. In 2022, rumours claimed that an upcoming entry in the series would feature the Aztecs, although those claims ultimately proved inaccurate as Ubisoft moved forward with Assassin’s Creed Mirage and its Baghdad setting.
Nebula itself has never been officially announced by Ubisoft. Later reports have suggested that one of Ubisoft’s future large-scale Assassin’s Creed RPG projects could potentially be connected to Nebula, although that connection remains speculation.
For now, an Assassin’s Creed adventure through the Aztec Empire remains an intriguing concept that Ubisoft reportedly explored rather than a confirmed upcoming game.
