Microsoft has announced another wave of Xbox console features for Xbox Insiders, bringing several long-requested improvements to the platform. While the update expands Home screen customization and game management tools, the biggest addition is the ability to record voice chat in gameplay captures.
Players will soon have more control over the Xbox Home dashboard, with new options to remove additional system content and pin more games and apps to the Home screen. The changes are designed to create a cleaner, more personalised experience while making favourite content easier to access.
Microsoft has also introduced improved storage management tools to help players free up space by identifying games and content that can be safely removed. Cloud Gaming has received further quality-of-life improvements as well, although the company has shared few specific details.
The headline feature is support for recording voice chat alongside gameplay. Until now, Xbox captures only included game audio, but the new option allows players to include Party Chat and supported in-game voice chat in their recordings. Privacy controls will also let players choose whether their own voice can be included in someone else’s clips.
The feature is expected to be particularly popular with content creators, making it much easier to capture funny moments, multiplayer highlights and reactions without needing an external capture card.
All of the new features are currently rolling out to Xbox Insider members ahead of a wider public release. Microsoft says the Insider testing period will help gather feedback before the update becomes available to all Xbox players.
