A new co-op fantasy RPG called Wyldheart is starting to attract attention online thanks to its mix of survival mechanics, action combat, and tabletop-inspired roleplaying systems.
Developed by indie team Wayfinder Studios, the upcoming game places players in the ruined kingdom of Caerwyn, where survival is just as important as combat. Unlike many fantasy RPGs that cast players as legendary heroes from the beginning, Wyldheart takes a different approach by starting players off as ordinary villagers trying to survive in a dangerous world.

The game supports up to four players in online co-op and features a classless progression system that allows players to build unique characters using different combinations of weapons, magic, survival skills, and exploration abilities. Players can specialize in melee combat, ranged weapons, crafting, dungeon exploration, or support-focused builds depending on how they want to approach the adventure.
Wyldheart also appears to focus heavily on immersion and roleplaying systems. NPCs reportedly follow routines, quests can be discovered through rumours and conversations, and the world is designed to feel more grounded and reactive than a traditional quest hub structure.
One of the more unique aspects of the game is its “bite-sized campaign” structure. Instead of requiring hundreds of hours to complete, each adventure is designed to last around 10 hours for the main story, alongside additional side content and exploration. The developers say this approach is intended to make it easier for groups of friends to actually finish campaigns together without massive time commitments.
Players will also be able to choose from multiple ancestries and backgrounds that shape the beginning of their journey, while crafting, gathering resources, and surviving harsh environments all play major roles throughout the experience.
Visually, Wyldheart leans into a stylized rustic fantasy aesthetic that feels heavily inspired by tabletop RPG adventures. The game’s atmosphere and cooperative focus have already drawn comparisons to titles like Valheim, Fable, and Dragon Age, while its slower roleplaying systems help it stand apart from more action-heavy fantasy games currently on the market.
Wyldheart is currently targeting an Early Access launch in 2026, with a full release planned further down the line. With its Kickstarter campaign now live, the project is already beginning to build momentum among co-op RPG fans looking for a more immersive fantasy experience.
