A dark new survival horror project is drawing attention on PC as Blight: Survival continues development. Created by Haenir Studio and supported by publisher Behaviour Interactive, the game blends medieval warfare with zombie horror in a bleak alternate version of 14th-century Europe.
The story takes place in a war-torn region caught between two rival kingdoms. After years of brutal fighting, a mysterious infection known as the Blight begins spreading across the battlefield. The disease feeds on the dead left behind by the conflict, reanimating fallen soldiers and civilians into violent creatures that now roam the land.
Players step into the role of warriors sent into this cursed territory to uncover the source of the infection and stop it before it spreads further. The mission quickly turns into a dangerous fight for survival as infected monsters, hostile soldiers, and roaming bandits all threaten anyone who enters the region.

The game is designed as a third-person PvE experience that can be played alone or cooperatively with up to four players. Combat focuses heavily on medieval weapons such as swords, axes, and bows, while stealth and teamwork can help players survive encounters with large groups of enemies.
Rather than a traditional open world structure, the gameplay revolves around mission-based expeditions into infected zones. During these runs players search ruined villages, battlefields, and forests for weapons, armor, and valuable resources. Each expedition carries risk, forcing players to decide whether to extract with the loot they have collected or continue exploring deeper into dangerous territory.

Items recovered during missions can be used to upgrade gear and strengthen a central hub area between expeditions. This progression system encourages repeated runs into the infected region while gradually improving a character’s equipment and survivability.
The game’s atmosphere has been one of its most talked about features. Early footage shows muddy battlefields, decaying settlements, and plague-ridden landscapes that highlight the grim tone of the setting. The developers have also teased a variety of environments, including marshlands and ruined medieval settlements overtaken by the infection.
Although Blight: Survival has generated significant interest among PC players, the game does not yet have an official release date. Development is ongoing as the studio continues refining the combat, progression systems, and cooperative gameplay experience.
If it delivers on its concept, Blight: Survival could offer a unique blend of medieval combat and survival horror, giving players a dark cooperative adventure set in one of gaming’s most brutal historical settings.
