Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake Could Finally Be Re-Revealed This Year

After years of uncertainty, a new report suggests that the long-awaited Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake may finally be ready to return to the spotlight.

According to a report from TwistedVoxel, citing Star Wars insider “100% Star Wars,” Saber Interactive is reportedly planning to re-reveal the remake later this year. While no official announcement has been made, the claim has renewed optimism among fans who have been waiting since the game’s original reveal in 2021.

The remake was initially announced during the PlayStation Showcase in 2021 while under development at Aspyr Media. However, reports of development difficulties emerged the following year, and the project was eventually transferred to Saber Interactive.

The latest report claims that Saber has spent the past several years rebuilding the game from the ground up. It also suggests the studio has brought together experienced developers and that development has been progressing steadily since the transition.

If the report proves accurate, the re-reveal would mark the first major update on the project in nearly five years.

The same report also claims the remake could launch as early as 2027, potentially aligning with the 50th anniversary of Star Wars. However, a 2028 release is also considered a possibility. Neither release window has been officially confirmed.

Although fans should treat the latest claims as rumors for now, there are signs that development is continuing. Earlier this year, Saber Interactive Chief Creative Officer Tim Willits confirmed that the studio is still actively working on the project, reassuring fans that the remake remains in development despite the long period of silence.

For many Star Wars fans, Knights of the Old Republic remains one of the most beloved RPGs ever made, and anticipation for a modern remake has remained high despite years of uncertainty.

Until Saber Interactive or Lucasfilm Games shares official news, the reported re-reveal remains speculation. However, if the rumors are accurate, fans may not have to wait much longer to see the iconic RPG make its long-awaited return.
