Upcoming survival game Zeverland is attracting attention with its colourful visuals, large open world and unusually flexible crafting system.
Developed by independent studio Quantum Quirks, the game combines zombie combat, scavenging, base building, vehicles and online co-op. Players will be able to explore abandoned towns, recruit survivors and build settlements equipped with farms, electricity, water systems and defensive structures.
One of its most interesting features is modular crafting. Players can combine ordinary objects to create unusual weapons, equipment and customised vehicles. Trucks and RVs can also be transformed into mobile bases containing storage, furniture and survival supplies.
Zeverland will primarily focus on PvE gameplay, with support planned for single-player, co-op, player-hosted servers and official servers. The developers have also teased infection mechanics that could allow players to continue playing after becoming a zombie.
The project has already passed 300,000 Steam wishlists following recent pre-alpha testing. However, the game is still in development and currently has no confirmed release date.
With its ambitious world, survivor-management systems and creative building mechanics, Zeverland could become one of the most interesting upcoming zombie survival games—provided the studio can successfully deliver on its large scope.
