A new co-op horror game called Yots is putting players inside a nightmarish city that doesn’t just contain monsters — the city itself is effectively alive and fighting against you.
Developed by Yots Studio, Yots is a 1-4 player action-horror game built around dangerous raids into a procedurally generated supernatural city. Players take on the role of cultists serving a demonic entity known as Yots, entering the City to cause destruction, hunt down enemies and hopefully make it back out alive.
The City is described as an ancient otherworldly entity capable of absorbing human consciousness and reshaping itself. That means expeditions aren’t simply about exploring the same streets repeatedly, with procedural generation helping create different environments and encounters between runs.
Combat mixes firearms with melee weapons, although ammunition is intentionally limited. Players will need to decide when it’s worth burning through their bullets and when getting up close is the better option. Artifacts discovered during raids can also be combined to create different character builds, adding a roguelike-style progression system to each run.
While Yots originally leaned more heavily into traditional co-op horror mechanics, its developers have since pushed the game toward a more action-focused experience. Players are encouraged to wreak havoc throughout the City, with increasingly dangerous enemies and events creating chaos as a raid progresses.

Yots also features online co-op for up to four players, proximity voice chat, permadeath elements and a distinctive retro-inspired visual style. Its grim 1930s aesthetic combined with deliberately old-school graphics gives the game an atmosphere reminiscent of classic survival horror without simply trying to recreate one particular game.
Yots was previously expected to launch in September 2026, but its release was delayed while the final build went through Steam’s approval process. The game is currently listed as coming soon on Steam.
For players looking for another co-op horror game but wanting something more combat-heavy than the usual run-and-hide formula, Yots could be one worth keeping an eye on.
