Cat Parents Is Turning Animal Rescue Into a Cozy, Open-World Experience

A new simulation game is aiming to tap into the growing demand for cozy, feel-good experiences, and it’s doing so with a clear focus on one thing: saving cats. Cat Parents is an upcoming title that blends open-world exploration with animal rescue mechanics, offering players the chance to build their own sanctuary while helping stray cats find safety.

Set within a city environment, the game tasks players with searching for abandoned and vulnerable cats scattered across streets, alleyways, and hidden corners of the world. Each rescue presents its own small challenge, whether it’s locating frightened animals or safely retrieving them from hazardous situations.

Once rescued, the focus shifts to care and recovery. Players will feed, nurture, and build trust with each cat, gradually improving their condition and preparing them for adoption. Alternatively, players can choose to keep their rescues, expanding their own growing sanctuary filled with unique feline companions.

A key part of the experience lies in management and progression. As more cats are brought in, players will need to upgrade their space, manage resources, and ensure every animal is properly looked after. This creates a loop that blends light simulation systems with a more relaxed, emotionally driven gameplay style.

Unlike more intense survival or simulation titles, Cat Parents leans heavily into a calm and rewarding atmosphere. The game avoids high-pressure mechanics, instead focusing on exploration, discovery, and the satisfaction of helping animals in need.

The game will also feature both single-player and cooperative modes, allowing players to run their rescue operation alone or alongside friends. This adds a social layer to the experience, encouraging teamwork in exploring the city and caring for rescued cats.

Currently listed as “coming soon” on Steam, Cat Parents is already attracting attention from players looking for a softer, more wholesome alternative to traditional simulation games. With its mix of open-world exploration, light management systems, and a strong emotional core, it could become a standout title in the cozy gaming space when it launches.
