Upcoming Parkour Game PANLINE Feels Like a Spiritual Follow Up to Mirror’s Edge

A new indie action adventure game is drawing attention for its fast paced parkour movement and futuristic setting. PANLINE, an upcoming PC title from developer Viridian Matters, is being described by many early viewers as a spiritual successor to Mirror’s Edge thanks to its focus on rooftop traversal and fluid first person movement.

The game takes place in a futuristic city built around an advanced infrastructure network known as PANLINE. This system manages the flow of resources, goods, and services throughout the city, creating a post scarcity society where most necessities are produced and distributed automatically. While the system has reshaped daily life for many citizens, not everyone benefits from its control.

Players take on the role of an off grid courier who operates outside the official network. Survival depends on delivering packages and information across the sprawling city using speed, agility, and knowledge of the urban landscape. As the story unfolds, changes within the PANLINE system begin to expose deeper secrets about the technology that powers the city.

Traversal plays a central role in the gameplay. Players move through the environment using parkour techniques such as running across rooftops, climbing structures, sliding through obstacles, and chaining movements together to maintain momentum. The game encourages players to learn the city’s layout through exploration rather than relying heavily on maps or traditional navigation systems.

Experienced runners scattered across the city can also teach new movement techniques, allowing players to discover faster routes and reach previously inaccessible areas. Mastering these abilities becomes essential as players take on more demanding courier contracts across different districts.

The game also introduces an underground contract economy operated by runners and data brokers. Players accept jobs through hidden message boards and networks, completing deliveries and tasks in exchange for currency, favors, and equipment upgrades. These connections help unlock new opportunities and expand the player’s reach across the city.

PANLINE is designed as a single player experience with a strong emphasis on exploration and movement driven gameplay. While the developer has not yet announced an official release date, the game is currently planned for release on PC through Steam.

With its sleek futuristic setting and emphasis on fluid parkour traversal, PANLINE is already attracting attention from players who enjoyed movement focused games like Mirror’s Edge and are looking for a modern take on the genre.
