The Division Resurgence Set to Launch on Mobile Later This Month

Ubisoft has officially confirmed that The Division Resurgence will launch on iOS and Android devices on March 31, 2026, bringing the tactical shooter franchise to mobile with a full standalone experience.

The upcoming title arrives during a milestone year for the franchise as the original The Division celebrates its tenth anniversary. Rather than being a simplified spin off, Resurgence has been developed as a fully fledged entry in the series, designed specifically for mobile while preserving the core mechanics that define the franchise.

Set in Manhattan during the early weeks of the Green Poison outbreak, the story runs alongside the events of the original game. Players step into the role of newly activated Strategic Homeland Division agents tasked with restoring order as society collapses. The familiar setting allows players to explore a snow covered New York City once again, while uncovering new storylines, missions, and characters unique to the mobile title.

Ubisoft says the game will feature a shared open world environment where players can explore the city, complete story missions, and encounter dynamic events across Manhattan. Classic factions from the series return, and players will once again scavenge abandoned streets and buildings for resources and gear while attempting to stabilize the crisis.

The gameplay closely follows the established Division formula. Combat focuses on third person cover based shooting combined with RPG progression systems. Players will be able to build and customize their agents through skill trees, armor sets, and weapon modifications. The game also introduces multiple specializations that can be unlocked and switched between, each offering different signature weapons and abilities such as seeker mines or ballistic shields.

One of the franchise’s most recognizable features, the Dark Zone, will also be included. This high risk area blends player versus environment encounters with player versus player combat, allowing agents to fight for rare loot while attempting to extract it safely before rival players intervene.

Although built for touchscreens, Ubisoft has confirmed that the game will support Bluetooth controllers, offering a control scheme closer to the console versions of the series.

Visually, the game is powered by Unreal Engine 4, with Ubisoft aiming to deliver a level of detail and scale rarely seen in mobile shooters. Because of this, players can expect a relatively large install size, with early testing suggesting the game could require around 10 to 15GB of storage once fully installed.

Ubisoft is also tying the mobile release into the broader Division ecosystem. Players who log in using a Ubisoft Connect account will be able to unlock cross game rewards, including cosmetics for The Division 2, while pre registered players will receive exclusive launch items such as the NYC Firefighter cosmetic set and gold weapon skins.

With its full open world design, cooperative gameplay, and Dark Zone PvPvE encounters, The Division Resurgence represents the franchise’s most ambitious mobile project to date. When it launches on March 31, it will mark the first time players can experience a complete Division style looter shooter entirely on mobile devices.
