Microsoft may be broadening their horizons as the latest rumours suggest that Xbox Game Pass could be making its way to Steam.
Subscriptions gaming services are proving to be extremely popular at the moment, giving gamers access to variety of titles easier and cheaper than ever before.
Tech giants Sony and Microsoft are leading the market with their popular services, Sony keeps players in the loop with its sometime complex combination of Playstation Now and Playstation Plus, whereas Microsoft keeps things a little more simplified with Xbox Game Pass.

There is quite literally something for all types of players, whether you want to take the foundation of Xbox Game Pass or if you want to go all out and get your hands on access to Xbox Cloud Gaming.
Microsoft saw a major boost over its competitors this year with its collaboration with ZeniMax media which saw the addition of huge Bethesda titles such as The Elder Scrolls and Fallout became a part of the much loved Xbox Game Pass family.

If rumours prove to be true and it makes its way to Steam, the cards will truly be in Microsoft’s favour.
Industry insider Tyler McVicker revealed in a Youtube video that “Valve is trying to get Game Pass on Steam”, although he didn’t go on to give any further information regarding the possible collaboration.
This information comes as no surprise as Microsoft Boss Phil Spencer has already stated previously that he wants to see Game Pass make its way onto as many different platforms as it can.

Although that would then mean that Xbox Live Gold would have to then become available across all of the same platforms, this is the reason why it hasn’t been added across Nintendo and Playstation storefronts as of yet.
There is the added question if Game Pass is added to Steam, would that then navigate players away from the original Xbox app?
On the other hand, Valve is the popular gaming storefront for PC users which makes sense for it to pursue Game Pass, considering just how large it has became in just a few short months.

This would be extremely beneficial for both sides, however we can’t help but wonder just what would happen to the rest? Epic have already tried to make their way into Valve’s market with their Epic Games Store.
