Xbox Boss Phil Spencer Gives Update On Fable 4’s Development

Alex KirtonBy Alex KirtonJune 25, 2021

Xbox boss Phil Spencer has stated that Fable 4 is in good hands after it was revealed it was being developed by the same team behind Forza Horizon 5.

In an interview with the Dropped Frames Podcast, Spencer gave a small update on Fable 4’s development stating that long-time fans of the series “should just take confidence” in Forza Horizon 5 developers Playground Games due to the “pedigree of the team”.

Other than praising the team behind the games development, he didn’t really have anything else to offer about its development. What we do know is that the game will be launching on the Xbox Series X and PC and its being developed on the same engine that Forza Horizon 5 uses, which makes sense considering it’s the same development team.

Other rumours surrounding the game have suggested that Fable 4 will be an MMO set in the Fable universe, as well as a supposed leak which claimed several parts of what makes a Fable game had been changed, from core themes to gameplay. The leak also claimed the game would include time travel and could be set across multiple time periods and planets.

However, until anything official is released by Microsoft, all rumours should be taken with a pinch of salt.
