A selection of points of interest from an upcoming WWII Warzone update have leaked online.

Call of Duty: Warzone will be updated with each new Call of Duty title, in the same way Verdansk ’84 was introduced to bring Warzone up to date with the Cold War theme of Black Ops: Cold War.
A recent report has suggested that the upcoming 2021 Call of Duty release will be from Sledgehammer games and will be set in World War II. Codenamed Vanguard and planned to release later this year with an announcement being made this summer.
According to the report, Vanguard will be tied in with Warzone ‘significantly’. Instead of updating Verdansk slightly, it will instead replace it entirely with a new one. It’s likely that Verdansk ’84 was only a slight map change because Treyarch didn’t have enough time to work on a new map as Warzone only released earlier that same year, Sledgehammer however will have a lot more time to work on theirs.

The rumour goes on to indicate that the new map will be set in the Pacific theatre of war. Corroborated by a new data mine leak which uncovered the names of some possible points of interest in the new Warzone map.
The COD 2021 WZ POIs have been found in the latest update. They are as follows.

Resort, capital, radio station, subpen, farms, airfield, lagoon, beach head, caldera, mines, village, airstrip, docks, arsenal

The names were found by a reputable data miner ‘Nanikos’, and they hint towards locations that are pacific themed. The full list is here:
- Resort
- Capital
- Radio Station
- Subpen
- Farms
- Airfield
- Lagoon
- Beach Head
- Caldera
- Mines
- Village
- Airstrip
- Docks
- Arsenal
Most of the names are fairly simple, there’s not much to take away from ‘Farm’, ‘Capital’, or ‘Mines’, but remember that most current Warzone locations are named simply. One location name gives away a little more than the other though, ‘Subpen’ is one that indicated a World War II theme. Submarine pens were used during the war as a storage place for submarines to protect them from airstrikes.

Remember that at the moment this information is just rumoured and is not confirmed by Activision, so take it with a pinch of salt.
