Warzone Reportedly Getting a New Map Based on World War 2

Melika ZaidiBy Melika ZaidiMarch 30, 2021

Rumours have started to spread regarding Call of Duty 2021 and it seems that the upcoming title could be making its way back to World War 2.

It seems that the Call of Duty franchise is set to return back to the World War 2 era after some information was leaked regarding this years upcoming instalment in the series.

Instead of a new release every year like other titles in the franchise, Warzone regularly updates to keep things fresh and stay up to date with other releases, the latest in these updates was the games recent integration with Black Ops Cold War.

That being the case, we should see the same happen again when this years Call of Duty launches at the end of the year. This could bring with it a new map with a World War 2 theme.

The revelation came when ‘Tom Henderson’ took to Twitter to share with fans that he is confident that a new WW2 map will be headed to the game, the Tweet read “There will be a new Warzone map of some kind in 2022. It might not be a full-fledged map, but we should be getting a WW2 experience in Warzone. Possibly a Rebirth Island type map 🙂 This goes against all the current bits of info flying around, but I’m confident in that.”

FYI this is in addition to the new map coming in April (unless there’s more delays)

Henderson then went on to say “FYI this is in addition to the new map coming in April (unless there’s more delays)”.

He claims that the new map many not be a full-fledged map, however he makes a comparison to the Rebirth Island map we saw added to the game last year.

Of course, this is all unconfirmed information so we should be sure to take this leak with a pinch of salt until Activision confirm with an official statement on Call of Duty 2021.

Fans will just have to hang on that little bit longer until there is concrete information on what is in store for the future of Call of Duty, but in the meantime be sure to check back with us at Gamerficial for the latest news and updates.
