Warzone players have been left a little confused by this weeks playlist update in Warzone. Raven Software have removed all core playlist options from the game.
As with most battle royale games, new modes are added which changes up the game in a number of different ways. Players have the choice to play solo, duo, trio, or in a squad of four. As well as this, limited-time playlists are added frequently to keep the game feeling fresh.
When new modes are added to the game, the standard Warzone experience usually remains the same. Until this latest update that is. August 26 brought with it a weekly playlist update which has removed the standard BR Solos, Duos, Trios, and Quads from the game altogether.
Now, the only similar mode is Buy Backs:
The update was actually outlined in the Season 5 patch notes where it mentioned the playlist update with Buy Backs would be in place from August 26 to September 1, but it never actually mentioned the removal of the standard mode. Every playlist update in the past has left the standard mode untouched.
This has left Warzone players unhappy and some have taken to Reddit to question what is going on: “Ah, yes, that time of month where the standard BR game that made them billions of dollars is no longer a playlist option,” Reddit user MatzoTov wrote.
Others just simply questioned: “Where the hell is the standard BR?”
While Buy Backs is the most similar BR experience to the original, it’s still a lot more hectic than the standard mode. Buy Backs lets any player redeploy themselves into the game as long as they had enough cash on them when they died. This system replaces the usual Gulag, which is quite a drastic change to the game.
“Some of us just like to have a few casual games after work. Buy Back ain’t it,” players wrote on Twitter. “Hopefully they put it back, this is bulls**t.”
Some players are a fan of the Buy Back game mode, faster paced gameplay gives the feeling of Rebirth Resurgence, but on a bigger map, but other players would rather stick to the mode that made the game so popular in the first place, requesting that both options be available to please everyone.
Buy Backs will be around for the next week, but will likely disappear on September 2 when it will be replaced with another game mode.
