Warzone players have recently came up with an idea for a new feature that would embarrass early quitters and urge them to stay in the game just that little bit longer.
Call of Duty: Warzone gives players the ability to match up with random teammates which can be a great thing, however getting them to stay in the game can sometimes prove to be a difficult task.
Many players hit the peak of their frustrations when teammates are sent to the Gulag and never return, sometimes players simply quit and enter a new game leaving their original team in the lurch.
These events have prompted Warzone players to come up with some ideas of how they can combat this problem, many players have even suggested issuing a penalty to these early quitters, similar to what we have seen in Apex Legends.
The topic often surfaces on social media with players throwing around a series of ideas on how these early quitters can be punished, recently Reddit user ‘code-evans’ took to the platform to share an idea.
The post read “I’d love to see a deserter stat. Only applies on control initiated drops, not poor connection. I’d like people to be notified if the team they left won it too, or came second and might have won if the awol player would have stayed. People have no tenacity any more. If they have a rough landing, they bolt. Where’s the grit? Softie”.
Code_evans suggests that a feature should be implemented in the game that would see players stats say ‘deserter’ or ‘AWOL’ which would remain on they records for future teammates to see.
This would only affect players who choose to quit before the game comes to an end, so if players did not want to accrue a strike next to their name, they would have to play the match out in its entirety.
Of course, we can’t say if we would ever see something like this implemented into the game, but we can never rule it out.
It looks likes fans will just have to wait it out and see if anything like this will ever come into fruition.
