This time it appears that innocent players have been affected too, as many players reporting their account has been banned with no reason. This isn’t the first time these claims have surfaced either, but fans have no choice but to log a complaint and wait it out.
Usually before implementing a ban the decision would go before a review board where members of a security team will take the time to look at each individual. Resulting in a slower response time, however over time this has worked to weed out thousands of hackers account from the game.

Activision are yet to address the situation, where it is usual for them to face a string of appeals after a ban it is bizarre for them to receive so many complaints after a ban wave.
Activision also lead a policy on bans meaning all bans are permanent and accounts can never be recovered which also causes some major concerns for fans who feel they have been wrongly banned.

Of course, it is simply enough for players to simply create a new account but this means they will need to start the game completely from scratch.
Activision haven’t responded to any individual claims of an incorrect ban at this time, but with many players having spent a lot of money on skins and weapon blueprints, it will be interesting to see if this causes Activision any trouble later down the line.
