Warzone Players Are Being Banned For ‘Toxic Behaviour’

Activision have stated there is ‘no place’ for toxic behaviour as they ban hundreds of more accounts.

Activision are stepping up and taking action against toxic behaviour and have recently issued an update detailing how they will be combating this problem, the report states that so far over 350,000 accounts have been banned.

Call of Duty lobbies are often filled to the brim with toxic behaviour is gaming circles which has prompted Activision to speak out and warn players that there is no place for this kind of behaviour any longer.

The post reads “We are committed to delivering a fun gameplay experience for all of our players. There’s no place for toxic behaviour, hate speech or harassment of any kind in our games or our society. We are focused on making positive steps forward, and together celebrating the best fans in the world”.

To tackle this issue head on, Activision have rid the game of over 350,000 accounts which were demonstrating toxic behaviour or that were using racist usernames from a host of reports fed back from other players.

There has also been filters put into place which automatically tag and report offensive usernames or text in the chat, the chat feature has had this implemented for over 11 different languages.

“Our goal is to give players the tools needed to manage their own gameplay experience, combined with an enforcement approach that addresses hate speech, racism, sexism and harassment.”

As if that wasn’t enough, the company have even more in the works to keep the detection of toxic behaviour in control along with a series of plans to inform punishments for this continuing to offend.

There was also a mention in the blog post that they will be implementing “additional monitoring and backend technology” which will be coming into force soon.
