Melika ZaidiBy Melika ZaidiAugust 9, 2021

Call of Duty: Warzone fans playing on console have been eager to know just when Activision will drop a next-gen update.

Call of Duty: Warzone is yet to get a next-gen update for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S and console players are waiting eagerly for an announcment.

At present these next-gen consoles are currently running PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game which means users still are not able to access a host of customisable options such as SSD, a FOV slider and higher HZ or FPS support.

These types of options could give console players a serious advantage while playing with PC users.

As of yet, there is no official release date for a next-gen Warzone upgrade, however this hasn’t stopped rumours and speculation circulating.

Activision were quick to shut down rumours that suggested this upgrade would come in the next update at the beginning of Season 5 as a previous leak had suggested.

Although there are no concrete dates on a release currently, it has been speculated that the update will feature higher HZ support, a series of graphics options and of course the highly sought after FOV slider.

Players have been asking for a FOV slider for quite some time, however to add this feature to last-gen consoles would have negative effects on frame rates.

Next-gen consoles have a powerful graphics card inside that will be able to support a FOV slide all while being able to keep strong frames per second.

Console players have been requesting more options for customisation however they have been limited due to last-gen consoles, now it could be that their prayers are finally answered.
