Verdansk will ‘Never Return’ after Nuke Event According to Leaker

Melika ZaidiBy Melika ZaidiMarch 7, 2021

Warzone leaks everywhere have been pointing towards Verdansk suffering a huge nuclear event, leading to the end of the map as we know it, in fact according to a well known Call Of Duty leaker the map will ‘never return’.

Fans have always been asking for a new map to come to Warzone with many even requesting that we see some major changes to Verdansk to help mix things up. Of course, we saw the addition of Rebirth Island after Warzone’s integration with Black Ops Cold War, although it has seemed to leave fans underwhelmed.

Many players were left disappointed with Rebirth Island, fans were hoping for another large scale map, something like Verdansk, but Rebirth Island was dramatically different to what they expected.

Although we have seen some changes taking place in Verdansk recently, Zombies have made their way to the island located in a Shipwreck in the south-east of the map. Recently leaks have pointed towards zombies taking over the city, even Activision have posted a teaser hinting at the upcoming takeover.

The upcoming zombies takeover is reportedly said to lead the whole city to a nuclear destruction, several leaks have already stated that Verdansk will be destroyed on March 11th, although these claims have since been discredited by reports claiming that these events will actually take place in April.

If Verdansk is completely destroyed it would make way for a brand new map to debut in the game, which would make sense as according to well known leaker ‘Tom Henderson’ Verdansk is to never return to the game.

Henderson took to Twitter to say “The current plan for Warzone is that Verdansk will never return. There’s no separate playlist, map voting, or anything like that. Warzone is Warzone and Warzone is 1 map. Warzone will continue to change its map as the story progresses.”

He also went on to say “When I heard this, I immediately thought that a time machine or portal could be added to the story to have us return to Verdansk in a year or two… But this is just my speculation. More on this at a later date.”

This would certainly quench players thirst for a new map although we can’t help but think that most of us would miss playing in Verdansk, could it be possible that it may make a limited time return in future?

As the speculated nuke event draws closer, it certainly makes sense that it would completely wipe out the map but I guess fans will just have to hang on and see what the future brings.
