The Call of Duty: Vanguard Beta has only just come to a close, the game is set to release in just a few short weeks, but fans are already begging for one of the games Field Upgrades to be removed.
Modern Warfare 2019 was the first game in the series to introduce Field Upgrades, controversial at the time as Dead Silence was moved from the perks to the Field Upgrades, which fans were not happy about.
The same Field Upgrades from Modern Warfare were moved over to Warzone and with Vanguard using the same engine as MW 2019, we can expect to see Vanguards Field Upgrades moving to Warzone too.
But whether you love them or hate them, Field Upgrades are here to stay, this has caused frustration for some players in the community as they claim one Field Upgrade in particular has no place in the game.
Back in 2019, the biggest debate was around Dead Silence, but now players are turning their attention to the Armour Field Upgrade.
The Armour Field Upgrade basically brings Warzones armour system to multiplayer. This isn’t new to Vanguard though, Black Ops: Cold War also featured the same Field Upgrade.
One player took to Reddit to explain why he thinks these Field Upgrades have no place in multiplayer.
His reasoning is that the armour brings inconsistency to gunfights, other players supported him by saying they were “ridiculous” and saying it was “extremely annoying” that the feature has remained in this years iteration of the game.
Others tried to compromise saying that they think they should stay in the game, but could be reworked to make them take longer to recharge, forcing people to be wiser about when they used them.
While fans feel frustrated with the game for making changes like this, it’s worth remembering that this is exactly the point of a Beta. Feedback from players is important before the game officially releases and changes can and probably will be made before November 5.
