Call of Duty players seem to be divided when it comes to the Vanguard Alpha, with the biggest complaints being about the games graphics on console.
The long running Playstation and Call of Duty partnership is back in full swing meaning PS players are getting early access to content, while PC and Xbox players usually have to wait an extra week. The same is the case with the Vanguard Alpha which is exclusive to PS4 and PS5.
As is expected with an Alpha, the game is not in its final state and players should expect to find bugs and issues in the game, but the biggest complaint at the moment is targeting the games graphics.
One clip is getting a lot of attention, with people reacting to the graphics, claiming they look like they’re from a Nintendo DS game, and it’s hard to disagree. It could be down to the game being in Alpha as well as a lot of Twitter compression on the video.
Others have been quick to point out that console graphics are always lesser quality than the PC counterpart. YouTuber JGOD called it “insane” that the first impressions people are getting of the game are from console gameplay with its limited visuals.
JGOD reminds people that the game is a graphical improvement: “It looks better graphically than MW2019 and Warzone, but you would never know from what is being posted.”
Remember that Alphas and Betas are only intended to test the game for bugs and instability, they should never be taken at face value and these likely aren’t the graphics the game will ship with.
