It has been recently revealed by an insider that Rockstar Games are apparently shifting their focus to work on GTA 6, therefore abandoning other projects to give GTA their full attention.
Allegedly, there were GTA 4 and Red Dead Redemption remasters in the works however these plans have since been scrapped to allow the team the space and attention to work solely on the long awaited GTA 6.
‘Tez2’ initially claimed that these remasters had been completely cancelled, the insider said “Yes. I’ve heard about those a long time ago. As well as their plans to come up with an Enhanced Rockstar Editor. All cancelled/halted by now” in a response to a fan questioning if RDR2 would ever get a next-gen release.

“Per Tez2, it doesn’t look like Rockstar Games wants to ship out a new enhanced version of #RedDeadRedemption2 for next-gen consoles anytime soon. It’s an absolute crime to abandon this game over GTAV.”
This will no doubt hit hard with Red Dead fans, it was only earlier this week that fans began planning a funeral for the game in Red Dead Online as gamers have seen almost a whole year out with no new content.
The funeral is taking place on July 13 and anyone can attend, a post circulated urging players to don their best dark suits for the occasion.

Will we see the team pick these projects back up in future? It looks like fans will have to simply wait this one out and see what is in store for the future of Red Dead Redemption.
