Treyarch know just how to keep keep fans of the zombie mode happy, teasing us with a chandelier with a backdrop reminiscent of World at War.
Rumours have been circulating since even before the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War suggesting that Kino Der Toten, Die Rise, Tranzit, and even Buried would be remade for the current zombies mode, now with Treyarch’s new teaser, it seems to be true.
The teaser comes not long after the release of Firebase Z and the new outbreak mode, but it doesn’t show much, the only thing we can really see is a chandelier.
The whole teaser is shown through a Dark Aether teleportation effect, the description reads “Breach scale: Large. Status: 0% contained.”
Treayarch released another teaser shortly after captioned “”There’s an operation underway in the Ural Mountains. I have to stay in the field.” This could be the evidence to point that it’s not Kino coming back, but with portals to other dimensions it’s not impossible that we could return to Kino at some point.
So far the story behind zombies seems to be the driving factor in what maps we get next, it would break that cycle to release Kino Der Toten right now, unless it was released as a side map not connected to the current story, or the plot takes us to a new breach in the middle of a German theatre. Die Maschine explains to us how these breaches have been opening up all around the world.
Again, this is just rumours and speculation following a teaser from Treyarch, we’ll need to wait for official announcement before it worth getting excited.
