As the tenth anniversary of The Last of Us draws ever closer, fans are getting more and more excited for the potential PS5 remake of the original game. Shortly after its release, The Last Of Us became one of biggest games of its time so it is really no surprise that a remake would eventually be released.
We may not have too much longer to wait to get a slice of the action, according to well known leaker Tom Henderson, it’s looking likely that a remake could be headed to console this year.
Henderson took to Twitter to share the news with fans, the post claims that the remake is “nearly finished” and that the title could be releasing later this year. The post read “Heard from multiple people now that the TLOU remake is nearly finished and could release during the latter half of 2022”.
Henderson also followed up by saying “With TLOU2 MP and TLOU 2 directors cut – I’ve heard they are coming too – But I don’t know exactly when/how. Them all releasing together could be a good compromise if GOW got delayed to Q1 2023 – But that’s just speculation on my end for the moment.”
We also saw The Last Of Us 2 take home a number of Game of the Year awards, so it wouldn’t be too surprising to see the original title bag itself a remake. Fans have been waiting quite some time for another instalment in the franchise, given the huge success of the first two titles, it could be that we see this happen sooner than we think.
