A Texas Chainsaw Massacre Game could be in development by Gun Media, the team behind Friday The 13th.
Gun Media are known as the company with “a passion for horror” and it looks like they’re making good on that promise moving on from Friday The 13th to develop a Texas Chainsaw Massacre game.At least, thats if the rumours are to be believed.
Rumours about the game have been circulating for a while, Wes Keltner the CEO of Gun Media and co-creator of Friday The 13th has posted a series of cryptic tweets, getting fans excited. The tweets sparked fans curiosity as they tried to figure out which movie was being turned into the next horror game, 1978’s Halloween or Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
Wes’ tweet tagged Ryan Turek, the man behind the production of 2018’s Halloween reboot, Jason Blum CEO of Blumhouse Productions, who fans of the horror genre will no doubt recognise. Creators of some of the most well known horror films, including; Get Out, Paranormal Activity, and The Purge.
He then went on to share photographs of himself working in a mo-cap studio. All of this information led fans to the conclusion that he was working on a Halloween video game.
On closer inspection, fans noticed that a figure in one of the photographs was Kane Hodder, the man who played Jason Voorhees in Friday The 13th. He also provides motion capture for Jason in the video game. Hodder is also a stuntman for Laterface in Texas Chainsaw Massacre III.
The biggest giveaway however, is a Cameo Hodder produced himself, stating “I did the motion capture for Jason in the video game, and I’m currently doing a new video game, another horror franchise that I can’t talk about yet, but you’ll see, eventually.”
Everything so far points to a Leatherface video game coming soon, and with a new Texas Chainsaw Massacre film releasing on Netflix later this year, now seems like a great time to bring out a video game featuring the masked killer.
