New developments suggest that an announcement might be on the horizon. Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, is reportedly in the process of securing the web domain GTA6.com.
According to a post by KYE on X, which was formerly known as Twitter, Take-Two Interactive has sent a legal letter to the existing domain owner, urging the transfer of the domain to their possession. The letter states, “Your registration of the GTA6.com domain name violates our rights in our Grand Theft Auto Marks.” The correspondence also included a deadline for the domain transfer, specified for 3 PM BST on October 26, 2023. This letter appears to be drafted by Justin Roberts, an in-house legal counsel for Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc.
Adding fuel to the speculative fire, the Rockstar Games website has recently seen changes in its video section, spurring rumours of an upcoming GTA 6 trailer. Despite these tantalizing hints, it’s important to note that no official confirmation has been made. As the letter from Take-Two Interactive notes, “We prefer to settle this matter amicably and request that you immediately arrange for the transfer of the GTA6.com domain name to Take-Two.”
Although the domain GTA6.com exists, a visit to the website reveals that it is currently not operational. This further adds to the intrigue as gamers around the world eagerly await any news on GTA 6.
Given these multiple hints and movements, speculation is rife that an official GTA 6 announcement could be coming soon. However, until confirmed by the developers, this information should be approached with caution.
For now, all eyes are on Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar Games for what could be one of the most highly anticipated announcements in the gaming world.
