Bethesda and Xbox have had to shut down rumours of Starfield coming to PS5 yet again.
Rumours have been circulating for a while now that Bethesda’s space title Starfield will be exclusive to PC and Xbox.
Despite the speculation, it hasn’t stopped fans suggesting that Peter Hines, the executive at Bethesda has hinted at a release for PlayStation 5.
Fans have been taking to social media to discuss the possibility of Starfield coming to PlayStation 5, Hines took to Twitter to reply to a fan speculating about the games release.
‘The Red Dragon’ said “Bethesdas Pete Hines suggests the door might still be open for possibility of games like Starfield coming to PS5 in future”.
Hines was quick to reply saying “No, that isn’t what I was suggesting.” alongside a GIF suggesting people were clutching at straws.
Aaron Greenberg from Xbox also said “Starfield will be an launching exclusively on Xbox Series X|S and PC on November 11, 2022. Game Pass members can play it day one as well on Xbox & PC. I know we have said this all before and none of that has or will change.”
“We have tried to be as clear as possible, not a timed exclusive, this is simply where the game is being made.”
Pete had also mentioned in an interview with GameSpot a few months ago “If you want to play Starfield, [it’s] PC and Xbox. Sorry. All I can really say is I apologise, because I’m certain that it’s frustrating to folks, but there’s not a whole lot I can do about it.”
So, it looks like if you’re wanting a slice of the Starfield action when it releases next year, you’re going to need a PC or Xbox.
