A number of sources have recently suggested that a Battlefield 2042 announcement is imminent.
It seems that multiple sources think a Battlefield 2042 delay could be on the horizon, it all started when VentureBeat’s Jeff Grubb took to Twitter to announce there would be more delays to follow this week.
This comes after it was revealed that Dying Light 2 would be facing a delay, the post read “Welcome to delay season. More delays coming this week.”
He followed up by saying “I’ll add that I’m actually referring to a singular delay.”
This Tweet was soon met with comments from a number of other reliable sources who seemed to chime in and comment it was in fact Battlefield 2042 that was being delayed.
‘Dealer_Gaming’ also took to Twitter to say they had heard Battlefield 2042 was being delayed, the post read “Battlefield 2042 delayed to 2022. That’s what I’m hearing. #BATTLEFIELD2042”.
‘Shpeshal_Nick’ also replied in the thread with confirmation he had too heard the same rumour, although he did back it up by saying the rumour he had heard specified that the delay is “not necessarily 2022”.
Since then Robert Serrano has also taken to Twitter with an image of GameStop’s Italian website where they have changed the release date for Battlefield 2042 to December 31 2021.
The post read “The Italian GameStop retailer has already updated the release date of BATTLEFIELD 2042 PC version to a generic December 31, 2021 So, the delay was almost confirmed Of course, just wait the official EA statement”.
This would make sense as fans had been wondering just what was going on with the games beta dates, seeing as the beta is scheduled to launch sometime in September, players are wondering when more details would be shared.
Of course, we must take this information with a pinch of salt as this is merely all speculation at the moment, fans will just have to wait it out and see if there is any official confirmation from EA.
