Rockstar Games seem to be scaling back on the modding community again, could this mean a Grand Theft Auto 6 announcement is imminent?
An announcement for Grand Theft Auto 6 could be looming closer and Rockstar Games clamp down on the modding community.
Rockstar Games have been regularly pumping out updates and resources for Grand Theft Auto 5 Online, however players are sitting patiently hoping for news of the much anticipated GTA 6 title.
Up to now, Rockstar have remained tight lipped about whether the title is even in development at all, however recently we have seen them clamping down on GTA 5 mods.
Fans have been left wondering if this action could indicate that an announcement regarding GTA 6 could be on the way.
This isn’t the first time this has happened either, back in 2017 they removed specific files leaving the modding community confused.
Now it seems that they are pulling add-ons made by the community once more, this has left fans asking a lot of questions as it is unclear as to why this is happening.
Mods that have been removed from the game featured a series of fan favourites such as Liberty City and Vice City.
‘GTASeries’ took to Twitter to share the news and express their confusion for the removal of the mods.
The post read “Take-Two is once again taking down old GTA mods despite the community outrage back in 2017 about the C&D sent to OpenIV. We don’t know if T2 & #RockstarGames are changing their policy for the modding scene or if they’re aiming at specific”.
This action has now resulted in rumours suggesting this could be in preparation for a GTA 6 related announcement.
Fans have came to this conclusion as they believe the removal of certain mods is a result of a change to policies regarding mods.
Could this mean that something is in the works for GTA 6?
Of course, we can’t say for sure if this is definitely the case, fans will just have to hang on and see if an announcement follows suit.
