The eagerly awaited launch of Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) by Rockstar Games might hit a roadblock due to the potential re-release of a refurbished version of Red Dead Redemption.
This hypothesis has been ignited by a recent certification of Red Dead Redemption by Korea’s Game Rating and Administration Committee, suggesting the possible remaster for various gaming platforms, including consoles and PC.
Zack Zwiezen, a correspondent for the gaming news site Kotaku, has added fuel to the fire of this conjecture. He recently shared that, though the Red Dead Redemption remastering project was temporarily halted, it has now resumed its developmental activities.

In his tweet, Zwiezen informed, “The RDR1 remastering project was briefly paused following the GTA Trilogy fiasco, but it hasn’t been permanently axed. I was told that they merely put the remaster on a hiatus, planning to resume closer to or after the GTA6’s debut.”
As gamers ardently await both the Red Dead Redemption remaster and GTA 6, concerns bubble up around how the launch of the former might impact the highly awaited release of the latter.
Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar, indicated a potential launch period for GTA 6 during a recent investor call. They predict a release sometime between April 2024 and March 2025.
Take-Two’s statement further adds anticipation: “Fiscal year 2025 holds a lot of promise for our company. Over the last few years, we have been setting the groundwork to launch a solid line-up of games that we believe will elevate our company to even greater heights. In the Fiscal year 2025, we plan to usher in this new era by releasing several innovative titles that we believe will redefine industry standards and help us achieve over $8 billion in Net Bookings and over $1 billion in Adjusted Unrestricted Operating Cash Flow.”
Fans have already received a sneak peek into the upcoming Grand Theft Auto game through leaks. The setting appears to be Vice City, and for the first time, it will introduce both male and female playable characters. The leaked scenes hint at a Bonnie and Clyde-style narrative, where the characters are engaged in a diner heist, corroborating earlier reports.
