Red Dead Redemption 3 Probably Won’t Be Set After RDR1

Alex KirtonBy Alex KirtonApril 8, 2022

The Red Dead franchise has continued to build up an impressive fan base over the past 20 years and now fans are eager to learn what may be in store for the future.

Gamers have been busy discussing the next potential instalment in the series, there is a lot to consider when it comes to a possible RDR3 title, could it be that the game takes a different direction than we expected?

Fans were initially thrown into the Western world with the first tile in the franchise, Red Dead Revolver back in 2004, this title set the tone for future games and remains and important influence in the series. The classic and most popular title Red Dead Redemption launched in 2010 and gave players a highly detailed playing experience which was followed by the release of the sequel Red Dead Redemption 2 in 2018.

Now, players are wondering just when Red Dead Redemption 3 would take place as many think the game would continue on from where it left off. However, it seems that the game going forward in time may not actually be a possibility, it could be more likely that we would see the title go back in time instead.

A more modern setting for the title would potentially throw the game from what we know and love, for example the addition of more modern vehicles could derail the game from the current aspects already features such as hunting.

A modern setting would definitely be an interesting concept, but would it be practical?

It looks like fans will have to wait this one out to see what is in store for the future of the series, but in the meantime be sure to check back with us at VGN for the latest news and updates.
