Melika ZaidiBy Melika ZaidiApril 30, 2021

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is getting a sequel and it plans to stray away for the first game and will focus heavily on realism.

Some may say PUBG is the reason why battle royale titles have become such a huge success being one of the first battle royale titles of its kind to release.

Impressively it has continued to maintain its fan base despite other huge battle royale titles making their way onto the market, and now it seems that a sequel could be on its way.

PUBG has made its own unique mark on the gaming world with its modern setting and heavy focus on a realistic experience, it’s no surprise that rumours have circulated for a while about numerous spin offs of the game. It has been reported that there is a PUBG horror title named Undawn in development, along with the new mobile game PUBG: New State.

According to a new leak it seems that there is a PUBG sequel currently being developed, the announcement came from reliable PUBG leaker, playerIGN. They claim that they got information on the upcoming sequel from an inside source at developer Krafton.

The upcoming title will keep inline with the games current modern day timeline and still focus heavily delivering a realistic battle royale experience.

It makes sense the PUBG want to remain true to its roots after its realism was what shot the game to success in the beginning and there are already a number of titles who offer a futuristic experience to players.

It was also noted in the post that the team who are currently working on the title is made up of original PUBG developers alongside other team members who have worked on other battle royale titles.

New members to the team could suggest that there will be some new features added similar to what we have seen in other battle royale titles.

Fingers crossed that we see PUBG 2 come into fruition, however fans of the game will just have to wait it out and see what is in store for the future of the title.
