Antstream Arcade, the streaming platform known for its extensive library of retro games, expands its services to Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One. With a current total of 1470 games, including classic Amiga, arcade, C64, Mega Drive, SNES, and ZX Spectrum titles, Antstream Arcade provides an ultimate nostalgia trip for seasoned gamers.
Featured in the service are beloved titles such as Mortal Kombat, Metal Slug X, Earthworm Jim 2, Space Invaders, R-Type, and Robotron 2084, enabling players to revisit the golden era of gaming. Although the platform is already available on PC and mobile devices, the Xbox version stands as a unique product, necessitating users to set up a separate account.
In an official tweet, Antstream Arcade shared their future plans stating, “We’re planning to explore options for account linking in the future as a component of our major project vision update planned for the year-end.” This could potentially offer greater convenience for users across different devices.

As for subscription fees, gamers can access the service at an annual rate of $29.99/£29.99 or opt for the Lifetime Pass Edition at $79.99/£79.99.
The creation of the Xbox app was largely influenced by Xbox boss Phil Spencer’s involvement, according to Mike Rouse, the head of Antstream Studio. In a chat with the Xbox Expansion Pass podcast, Rouse explained, “After meeting with Phil Spencer, who is an avid supporter of game preservation, he gave us the nod to proceed with it on Xbox.”
He further emphasised, “We’ve devoted the last year to readying our tech and streamlining the code to be compatible with Xbox. Without the backing of Phil and his team, this project may never have materialised.”

Rouse concluded by saying, “The Xbox team has been incredibly supportive of Antstream’s arrival on Xbox. They understand and share our vision. For Xbox gamers, there are over 1400 games available from day one. While not every game will appeal to all, there’s enough variety to potentially keep you occupied for a decade.”
