As Season 3 of Warzone brings with it heaps of new content alongside a new 80’s version of the Verdansk map, it seems that players will never be able to play the original map again.
Over its time in the game Verdansk had become an iconic Warzone map with heaps of classic POIs and locations. As much as it has been popular with players, it hasn’t been without its fair share of issues as you would expect from any map.
However, clearly the devs had put quite some time into this map and it showed as it quickly became a fan favourite, so it makes sense that rather than wiping the map out completely and starting from scratch, they have decided to give it a huge makeover instead.
Some players have even caught a glimpse of the new Verdansk 84 map when it was accidentally released early before it was swiftly removed from the game, but from what we did see it certainly looks brighter and much fresher.
Although, if these new changes aren’t up your street, you could be wondering if you will ever be able to play on the original map again. Unfortunately, the original map will not be returning to the game, the new version will be the only map on offer until it is decided to update it again.
The developers also confirmed this recently in a press briefing with Raven Software, they stated that fans will never be able to play the original version of the map again.
This comes as incredibly bad news to players who favour the old map, could it be that we see the old map back in future in a limited time mode?
Of course, this may never happen, after all the map was nuked. For now, players can spend time enjoying and exploring everything Verdansk 84 has to offer.
