No Man’s Sky seems to be receiving a host of huge updates each coming month and it seems things have been taken to the next level with the most recent update, Frontiers.
This new updates focusses heavily on base building mechanics of space explorers and expands them so much that players are now able to create a settlement of their own.
Not only can players begin building their own settlements, but they can all fill them with a host of alien inhabitants.
Players will be able to apply to become the overseer of a settlement on an occupied planet as soon as they have downloaded the new patch.
Player will be able to take part in “town planning, treasury management, policy decisions and conflict resolution. Every settlement is procedurally generated, with unique buildings, neighbourhood layouts, colour schemes, and interior and exterior decoration”.
Once players have gathered enough resources, they will then be able to expand their own portion of paradise and turn it into a bustling town which is packed full of residents.
Players will also have to make sure their residents are happy as they will have to often settle disputes between inhabitants.
This has been made possible by the addition of hundreds of new base parts in No Man’s Sky including things such as stone and timber, this means that players can personalise their settlements and really make them their own.
Sean Murray from Hello Games has said “See all your building parts in an easy-to-parse grid. You’ll notice some you forgot about! You can now pick up and move base parts you’ve placed, duplicate parts, or build impossible new structures in free place mode.
Not only this, but the visuals in the game have undergone a bit of revamp along with a host of other featured effects.
“Weapons and explosions feel much more punchy and add a new visceral element to combat.”
