NecroKing Bundle Removed From Warzone After The New Skin Breaks Loadouts

Alex KirtonBy Alex KirtonMarch 22, 2021

The new bundle only launched on March 21st in Black Ops Cold War and Warzone, only hours after it’s release it was pulled from the game due to bugs.

Cosmetic bundles are Call of Duty’s new way of monetising the game after release, moving away from the random drop creates that we had seen in previous games. Players can now buy the weapons they want directly. Some bundles are simple skins for weapons, while others completely change the design of the weapon.

The new NecroKing bundle for Cold War and Warzone was a dragon themed skin and is one of the first Ultra-tier items which bring with it it’s own animations and visual effects.

Players rushed to buy the bundle when it arrived in the store but after only a few hours it had vanished from the store. The bundle has been removed for some ‘Warzone-specific issues.”

The bundles selling point is the Ice Drake weapon blueprint for the Krig 6, the blueprint isn’t able to be equipped on any other weapon. Unfortunately when players change any of the attachments on the weapon, the visual design is ruined.

This wasn’t the intended effect of the new blueprint and the developers responded quickly.

“We’re aware of Warzone-specific issues with the NecroKing bundle when using the default Barrel on the “Ice Drake” Blueprint.” the official Activision Support Account tweeted. “The bundle will be temporarily removed from the Warzone Store while this is addressed.”

Players have been advised to use the 16.5 Ultralight barrel in the meantime until the issue is fixed.

We're aware of Warzone-specific issues with the NecroKing bundle when using the default Barrel on the "Ice Drake" Blueprint. Currently, attaching the 16.5" Ultralight Barrel fixes this issue.

The bundle will be temporarily removed from the Warzone Store while this is addressed.

The issues don’t stop there, players have been reporting bigger issues with the NecroKing bundle.

“The whole shop is bugged for me since they added this” A user on Reddit explained. “If I scroll down, it boots me from the store.”

Other players have reported issues while dropping into Warzone games.”if you put this in your loadout, you don’t have anything in-game, not even fists” another player responded.

The new weapon appears to leave players empty handed in the match.

We already know fixes are in the works for this bug, but Activision have not released an ETA. There is also no word on whether Activision will be giving out refunds for the bundle as they have done in the past.
