It appears Modern Warfare is still going strong, enough so that Activision have decided to give it another season of content, which I for one am very happy about after giving Cold War more than enough chances to win me over.
The future of Modern Warfare has been in question for a while now, the last content update for the game (besides operator and weapon packs) was September 28 last year. The last patch before Black Ops Cold War was released almost two months later.

Fans were left wondering what the future looked like for Modern Warfare after Activision made a series of questionable decisions with the game, you only need to look at the Blizzard launcher on PC to see that any reference to Modern Warfare is gone, and is now replaced with Warzone. Even when you launch Modern Warfare you’re greeted with a splash screen to launch Cold War or Warzone.

It seems like Activision did everything they could to push people towards Cold War, a business decision that was likely necessary after realising that fans didn’t enjoy Cold War as much as Warzone.
With no concrete evidence or information regarding the future of the game fans had to rely on rumours and speculation for the fate of the title, however the games developers confirmed that more content would indeed be headed to the game months later.
After that announcement, it wasn’t long before we saw a leak giving us some insight to what we can hope to expect in the upcoming future. The leak revealed a huge amount of new weapons, cosmetics and multiplayer maps that will be potentially making their way to the game. You can watch a summary of all the content in a video posted by The Gaming Revolution on YouTube.

Another major leak was that fans could expect to see two brand new Operator bundles, this was discovered deep in the games coding. This is now expected to make an appearance in the games next big update.
It was first teased in a Warzone cutscene when Captain Price called for backup and to the fan favourite operator Soap MacTavish. There is also set to be the release of the Sparks Operator bundle which will arrive with just one Operator skin but a large selection of other items and accessories.
There is also allegedly set to be four brand new multiplayer maps added to the mix also, this is a mix of gunfights and 6v6 gameplay. The new maps will be Raab Airbase, Townhouse, Killhouse and Drainage.
If this all wasn’t enough, fans should hope to expect three brand new weapons, Skyrov Pistol, CX-9 SMG and the Raal MG. It makes sense that we would see these weapons added as they have all been leaked recently.
Of course, with no concrete information from the developers themselves we can’t say for sure just exactly how much of this is true. Players will have to hang on for official confirmation, but be sure to check back with us here at Gamerficial to keep you updated.
