Fans are questioning the legitimacy of on of Grand Theft Auto 6’s most recent leaks. A leaker claims to have released images of the in game map from Rockstars upcoming game, but is it real?
It is easy to dismiss these types of leaks as false information, however if we cast our minds back to when the Red Dead Redemption 2 map leaked online ahead of time, fans were quick to believe it was fake, even though it turned out not to be.
Now we have seen a potential GTA 6 map make its way online and naturally fans have quickly questioned the legitimacy of this information, but should we look a little closer before we quickly write it off as fake news?
It is currently unclear just where the leak originally came from however Rockstar Games insider BOCO took to Twitter to share the news with fans and has discredited it as fake. The post read “GTA VI possible map! I’m doing more research on this one with my source, so let’s take it with grain of salt, I’ll update you. This is possible map of GTA VI (South America)”.
Of course, there is every chance that this map is actually fake but there is still a slim chance that it could actually be real.
If it does prove to be correct it looks as if players will be on their way to South America which does fit in with previous rumours and speculation.
It is hard to know whether a map would have even been finalised at this point as there is no way to tell just how far along in the development process the game currently is..
We must take this information with a pinch of salt for now, it looks like fans will have to hold on until an official announcement is made.
